Giorgio specialises in developing and refining laboratory bioassays for evaluating vector control tools and monitoring insecticide resistance, with a current focus on volatile insecticides. Their work examines how testing conditions affect bioassay variability, with the aim of producing more robust and comparable data. They were technical lead on the multi-centre study that established discriminating concentrations for broflanilide and isocycloseram, which WHO adopted in 2026. Giorgio is also the Research Integrity Champion for the Vector Biology department and supervises BSc, MSc and MRes student projects.
